<p><strong>Department: </strong>Content Solutions</p><p><strong>Location: </strong>Remote first, UK</p><p><strong>Compensation: </strong>£31,000 - £33,000 per annum<br><br></p><strong>Description<br><br></strong>We have an exciting opportunity for a Publishing Operations Editor to join our Content Solutions team where you will have end-to-end management of a portfolio of books, from facilitating the Editorial onboarding of new books right through to publication. You will ensure the books are published in line with Emerald’s standards of timely delivery, quality, customer service, and cost control.<br><br>You’ll support our authors and book editors through the onboarding with effective and timely communication as well as supporting our offshore supplier partners in day-to-day activities, including system support and problem solving. You will also be involved in writing synopsis copy and liaising with designers on cover designs.<br><br>Once in production you will continue to liaise with authors to ensure expectations are met and processes are understood, and will use your expert knowledge to own the book’s schedule, including problem solving when unexpected delays occur.<br><br>This is an exciting role that would suit an outcome-oriented individual wanting to be a part of publishing real world impact research.<br><br><strong>Location:</strong> We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. We strongly recommend applying as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.<br>If you require additional time to complete your application due to accessibility needs or other circumstances, please don’t hesitate to contact us, we’re happy to support you.<br><br></em><strong>Day to day we’ll trust you to:   <br><br></strong><ul><li>Support and manage relationships with our external book vendor teams to coordinate production of titles.</li><li>Write synopsis copy and liaise with designers on cover designs.</li><li>Ensure the timely announcement of titles to market using BooksoniX data management, as well as keeping records up to date throughout the whole process</li><li>Act as a liaison between the book commissioning and marketing teams, reporting on portfolio performance and resolving any problems that need escalation from the team.</li><li>Liaise with our Research Integrity and Legal departments when required.<br><br></li></ul><strong>You’ll need to have:   <br><br></strong><ul><li>Excellent interpersonal skills, both to build and maintain good working relationships with our offshore vendors and to able to confidently handle conflict resolution and disputes.</li><li>The ability to work to deadlines, advanced organisation, administration, problem solving and decision-making skills.</li><li>A continuous improvement mindset.</li><li>An understanding of the changing landscape of academic publishing and the production environment.</li><li>A keen interest to actively participate or lead projects that support Emerald’s mission.</li><li>Experience working with offshore suppliers would be beneficial.<br><br></li></ul><strong>What’s in it for you? <br><br></strong>At Emerald, we value our people.
