Summary: This role is for a Home-Based Transcriber with security clearance, responsible for producing accurate and timely verbatim transcripts from audio/video files for Epiq, a leader in the Legal Services industry. Candidates must possess strong English language skills, attention to detail, and experience in legal multi-speaker transcription. Key Responsibilities: Produce high quality, accurate transcripts from multi-speaker audio or video recordings in accordance with client style guidelines and delivery deadlines. Proofread and check all work for spelling, grammar, style and formatting prior to submission. Undertake cross-training on a variety of transcription contracts as directed by the business. Maintain familiarity with various audio playback platforms such as FTR (training will be provided if required). Maintain close communication with other transcribers and Transcription Manager/Coordinator. Action any feedback provided by the Transcription Manager/Coordinator in relation to quality or timeliness. Partake in annual information security and compliance training. Comply with Epiq’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures. Maintain safe remote work practices at all times. Key Skills: Educated to minimum A level or equivalent standard. Excellent English language & editing skills. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Copy typing at a minimum speed of 60 wpm. As a Home-Based Transcriber you will be responsible for the accurate and timely production of high quality, verbatim transcripts from audio/video files in accordance with Epiq Style Guidelines and contractual/client-driven delivery deadlines. If you are a fast, accurate typist with experience in legal multi-speaker transcription, excellent English language skills and strong attention to detail who enjoys variety and is looking for flexibility, then you are the perfect fit for this role. You will be computer literate with access to a PC/laptop where Microsoft’s Bitlocker encryption software can be installed and have a fast broadband internet connection, Microsoft Word, good quality headphones, an Infinity foot pedal and transcription software to play audio & video files. All candidates will undertake the Epiq online English assessment and typing tests. On successful completion of these assessments, you will receive full training prior to offering services. Security Clearance Due to the nature of this work, successful applicants will be required to obtain SC level of national security clearance.
