Fixed term contract – To 31st January 2026

We are looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer to join our Pensions Digital team that are designing, building and launching market leading digital experiences for our clients.

You will be a key member of the team that influences how new strategic digital products interact and engage with clients throughout their end-to-end journey.

As a UX/UI Designer you'll be expected to bring creative range and a depth of thinking to this role. You'll be at the forefront of UX/UI design solutions that employ and improve our principles, standards and design patterns, centred around best practice, consistency and re-use. You’ll consider the holistic customer experience and the end-to-end journeys, ensuring clear journey maps are in place and maintained as well as designing new features and continuously improving our current journeys.

You must be analytical and comfortable reviewing data to identify challenges in digital journeys and recommend solutions. You must be able to clearly articulate issues and work with Developers and Business Analysts on solutions for compelling journey improvement.

Job Description:

What you will do:

  • Conduct user research to understand the needs, behaviours, and pain points of pension holders and administrators.
  • Analyse user feedback, usability testing results, and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in the pension service platform.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to visualize and iterate on design concepts.
  • Ensure that designs adhere to GDS design principles, emphasizing simplicity, clarity, and accessibility.
  • Develop visually appealing and consistent user interfaces for digital pension platforms, considering branding guidelines and accessibility standards.
  • Ensure that pension service platforms comply with accessibility standards (such as WCAG) to accommodate users with diverse abilities and needs.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders throughout the design process to align on project goals and priorities.
  • Iterate on design solutions based on user feedback, stakeholder input, and usability testing results.
  • Use an agile methodology to rapidly prototype, test, and refine design concepts, ensuring continuous improvement of the pension service platform.

  • Can demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to articulate information in front of stakeholders.
  • You must be analytical and be comfortable reviewing data to identify challenges in journeys and recommend solutions. You must be able to clearly articulate issues and work with IT on solutions for compelling journey improvement.
  • You need to be able to influence wider teams to buy into the importance customer centric focus and design
  • Experience of working within Financial Services or pensions or a large matrix organisation
  • Knowledge of working with design tools such as Figma & Adobe Suite
  • Experience of the Agile methodology

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Government Design Systems (GDS)
